EW confirms NO new album
I posted earlier what Billboard.com had posted on this topic, but here is EW.com’s tid bit
Justin Timberlake hasn’t released an album since 2006′s FutureSex/LoveSounds, mostly because he has been distracted by the business of being Justin Timberlake. That tends to fill one’s day with acting in Oscar-winning films, dropping into the occasional SNL sketch, hosting a golf tournament, sometimes going to the Marine Corps Ball, and being engaged to Jessica Biel.
It’s a busy life, which is why our eyebrows raised when we saw these quotes from producer Jim Beanz, a frequent Timbaland collaborator (he’s also been involved in song productions for Britney Spears, Adam Lambert, and Demi Lovato) who claims to be working with Timberlake on a series of songs for a “crazy” new album.
It turns out… He wouldn’t. According to Timberlake’s publicist, there are currently no plans for a new album, though JT is working with Timbaland on tracks for Shock Value 3 (he appeared on each of the first two installments of the series).
But as for other music, “That’s it,” said the spokesperson.
That makes a lot more sense for Timberlake, who’s now pretty much entirely focused on acting. In fact, he’s currently in Puerto Rico with Ben Affleck filming the movie Runner Runner, which would certainly get in the way of his being in the studio.
So while the idea of a new JT album is titillating (especially for those of us still obsessed with FutureSex), it will have to remain a fantasy for now.
But it does bring up a good question: What other musicians have walked away on top the way Timberlake did? While he hasn’t been completely invisible (he has dropped in on tracks for Madonna, T.I., Jamie Foxx, Timbaland, and Esmee Denters, among others, since the release of FutureSex/LoveSounds), he has pretty much put the idea of an album on the back burner — though he may be dipping his toe into the world of film scores.

I’m sorry, but Justin is really shooting himself in the foot. Not planning another album and popping out movie after movie doesn’t make any sense. I believe he is using these movies as scapegoats because he’s either afraid the project will fail or that he has nothing to offer musically at this stage. It’s almost like he lost his touch. Something’s wrong. What has happened to you baby boy. Get your swag back, please!!

I’m pretty sure a lot of it has to be because he is with her.. It seems by him being with her he’s not inspired.
He’s not the type of artist that is going to come right and say I’m doing new album. Time will tell
How is being with Jessica hindering anything? I don’t see how Cameron was that inspirational to him, but we still got FS/LS. He came out with FS/LS right when his relationship with Cameron was about to crumple. Girlfriends should’nt affect the craft you love. Maybe he has gotten bitten by the acting bug, but his attitude towards music/album has become strange.
That’s true but before this he did want to do more music and would tour. And yeah he has acted before but not this much like he has in the last 4 years. Music with him seems to be out of the question now I don’t know. I hope not but let’s all be honest he didn’t act like this before until he got with her. But if that’s what he wants well..
