Christina Ricci 'So Impressed' by Justin Timberlake
Acting with Justin Timberlake in the explicit opening scenes of their new movie Black Snake Moan could have been awkward – but Christina Ricci says the singer was "sweet" and "a lot of fun."

"He's really great," she tells PEOPLE. "I was so impressed."

What impressed Ricci, 27, was the role he chose – Ronnie, a National Guardsman who is supposed to go to Iraq. "It's amazing, " she says. "It's not a vanity project. And he's not in a place where he needs to prove himself. He's established in his market, so he doesn't have to be choosing to do roles like this. It really shows the true inklings of an artist."

As for their sex scene, she says, "Well, you know, actors make out with other actors all the time. If they're sweet – and Justin is a very sweet, sweet guy, a lot of fun to be with and goofy – then you can turn it into a situation where you just laugh your ass off. Like, 'Okay, fine, now we're naked and on top of each other. Hi, how are you?' "

All in all, she says, "He was fun to be with, because we could laugh about it."

In the movie, set in backwoods Tennessee, Ricci plays Rae, an abuse victim caught in a cycle of promiscuity, who ends up beaten and unconscious outside the home of a God-fearing blues player named Lazarus (Samuel L. Jackson). He nurses her back to health and tries to teach her better behavior – by chaining her to his radiator.

Prepping for the part, Ricci made herself look unhealthy and, she says, too thin. "Usually people are like, 'Oh, you looked so great. I'm like, are you kidding? I look like I'm about to die. They're like, 'You're so skinny!' Yeah, I look like I'm about to die. … I wanted [Rae] to look like someone who didn't take care of herself."

To reach her goal, Ricci says, "I ate crap. Crap. [Rae] maybe eats once a day, and it's like, sugar, or whatever she can get from fast-food places. … I would eat a corndog and a cherry limeade and that was pretty much it."

But the diet wasn't all bad for Ricci, who says, "I'm not a huge fan of healthy food, anyway!"

The troubled star is currently enrolled in a 30-day-minimum rehab program at Promises Malibu, an inpatient treatment center in Southern California.  “I feel her pain, it really bothers me,” says Timbaland, his voice cracking with emotion.  “I’m the type of person who tries to save the world.  I just want to take her away, go overseas, and work [it] out.”

Even though insiders say it could be a year before Spears’ fifth studio album is completed, Timbaland will be waiting.  “I just want to hold her hand.  I want her to be in my camp, to be around Justin.  I need Justin to talk to her.  Help her, please!”

50 Cent recently revealed that he is planning to release two solo

The G-Unit boss divulged to Blender magazine that after he drops his third album, Before I Self Destruct, this year, he will release a follow up in February 2008.

According to 50 (born Curtis Jackson), the album due in '08 will be his last CD of original material for Interscope Records; since his five-album deal with the label includes a greatest hits disc.

"We'll see if they give me $100 million dollars [to re-sign]," 50 told Blender.

Before I Self Destruct, which is currently slated for a June release, reportedly features collaborations with Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and Rich Harrison, among others.

After his Monday night show at Allstate Arena, Justin Timberlake--the man who professes to have brought "sexy back" to pop music--rented out 10pin Bowling Lounge, 330 N. State St., to throw a private party for his crew and friends.

Timberlake--who wears a size 11 bowling shoe, by the way--at one point rolled a high score of 142.

Timberlake, who hit the stage for the second of two sold-out shows here Tuesday, must really dig the place.

Almost two years ago, he and his 'N Sync buddies--JC Chasez, Lance Bass and Joey Fatone--hosted a celebrity charity bowling party at 10pin.

I cannot believe he took that dude's beer, DRANK out of it, and then gave it back to that girl! I was like Justin?! And then... AND OMG. Why OH Why didn't he do DIAB?

I know he said that there were too many kids there but, I mean damn...you cussed your way through that concert and did all that sexual sh*t. Might as well do DIAB! Okay...so I was in like section 113, and my friend pointed out Lynn out! She was I think by the 109 section. I was like DAMN! I wanted to go over there...but I was on the opposite side.

Oh, and why wasn't the crowd louder? I mean they were loud but they seemed like they could have been louder or something. In my section, people sat through like the 2nd half of the show. I was like why aren't ya'll standing up? It was weird. I stood up for (2nd half of the show)CMAR and some other songs...and sat back down during some. But dang, it just felt weird standing because most of the people weren't standing! A

Anyway, I'll admit. I wasn't as energetic and crap as I usually am. I don't know why. I seriously wanted to be in V.I.P because the people in my section were just makin me sad.
It was an awesome show though.

I want to go back, so I can enjoy it better. This time, in V.I.P. Damn. Too bad. But hey...it was a great show!

Oh, one of my favorite parts was the interlude in Lovestoned. Holy sh*t that was just beautiful.

Recording with Reba McEntyre

There was a mutual admiration society Saturday at Starstruck Studios when Justin Timberlake sang with Reba McEntire on the song he co-wrote for her upcoming duets album.

"I think everybody will be surprised by the song we did," says producer Tony Brown. "I know Reba and I were surprised when he pitched us the song in Los Angeles."

Justin penned "The Only Promise that Remains" with good friend Matt Morris, our own phenomenally talented singer/songwriter (Christina Aguilera has cut his stuff) who is the son of country crooner Gary Morris. Brown describes it as a Celtic love song.

"It was all very organic, with a dobro and fiddle, upright bass and two acoustic guitars," he says. "It was a really beautiful folk song."

Justin performed Friday night at Nashville Arena but had plenty of energy left for his vocal performance the next day.

"He is just a great singer," Tony says. "You know that he must be to do all the things he's done. You don't realize it until you see him sing and help Reba work on the melody. He not only sang but co-produced it with Reba and me."

Justin's gifts as a piano and guitar player and songwriter also impressed the producer. He says Justin was just as impressed with Reba.

"He was totally blown away by her," he says. "Every time she would do one of her Reba stylistic licks, he would go crazy."

Reba recorded with Trisha Yearwood on Wednesday, Kelly Clarkson on Thursday and Rascal Flatts on Friday. "It was quite a week," Tony says.

Justin: I’m Not Apologizing to Anyone

“I’m having a moment.” So says 26-year-old Justin Timberlake in the new issue of Details. Indeed, never has the shedding of a boy-fro done more to turn someone’s image around.

Sadly, there are no details in the article about what he thinks of former girlfriend Britney Spears’ recent deforestation, but there are plenty of f-bombs and a cute bit about some fan stalking him from behind a hotel pillar that are sure to please.

The mag is on newsstands starting today. In the meantime, read on and behold as JT gets all up in the Grammys' grill and boldly refuses to pretend he’s not loving his new status as Hollywood man about town.

On finding his sound:
"I tried so hard to be an R&B artist [with first solo album Justified] and it was the pop album of the year, and I was like, 'F--k. That's the last thing I wanted but I was like, 'So everyone considers me a pop artist? Well, f--k it. I'm going to do whatever I want to do."

On surviving the boy-band apocalypse:
"I could give you a bunch of analogies about why I'm still around that would sound like hippie self-help bullsh-t. 'I saw an opportunity and I took it?' F--k you. Sure, there's a lot of luck involved. But on some level I have to believe in my ability. And I'm not apologizing to anyone. I worked f--king hard to get here."

On being used by the Grammys for ratings:
"I'm the nice guy who follows through on the things he commits to. But I don't know if I'll be going through that sort of thing again. I feel like the Grammys used me for ratings. And look at it-they were up 18 percent."

On his image:
“All of the sudden you’re Mr. ‘SexyBack’ and before that you were Mr. ‘Cry Me a River.’ I knew I had to take a break when they said the new ‘King of Pop.’”

On his new tour:
“It’s a b-tch. Way more intense than anything I’ve done before.”

On breaking up with Cameron Diaz:
"[Cameron and I] had our thing, and it's over."

Justin Timberlake who?

Suppose that in this day and age there was someone who didn’t know much about Justin Timberlake and that what she did know wasn’t all too impressive. Also assume that this person was sent to review a Justin Timberlake concert with the specific intention of discovering just what it is that makes him so appealing to modern day music fans.

In case you haven’t figure it out already, that person is me and I went to Justin Timberlake’s Chicago performance in order to try and better understand what his mystique is. Although there are plenty of his fans out there that will most likely abhor this review, I’m going to say it anyway: after watching him for several hours, I’m still not sure what makes him so appealing.

The show opened with several suit-clad men with body guard builds standing statuesquely behind sheer screens, a tension-building tactic that worked well to get the crowd screaming, a crowd comprised of far less teenagers than were expected. After what seemed an infinitely long wait, Timberlake emerged onto the stage via an elevator that lifted him into view, although he was still somewhat obscured by the screens and the light images that were projected onto them. After his entrance, a flurry of dancing began on the stage, with well over a dozen men and women strutting around in suits and dresses performing Timberlake-esque moves around the singer. While the slight of build and high-voiced singer isn’t all that much to look at, all eyes were on him and I admit that I found it difficult to look elsewhere. His dancing was good and it was impressive that he could pull it off while singing. The stage setup was truly excellent; the performers were able to move around the entirety of it, in all directions, allowing the audience to get the maximum value out of their seats. The show was definitely eye candy, but that alone is not usually enough to keep audience attention.

I personally found the show lacking in direction. Granted, most music performances don’t necessarily have a direction to them; the band gets up, plays their songs, and leaves. However, in this case, it seems that Timberlake and his crew were going for some sort of story line that wasn’t really hitting home. Song after song, Timberlake danced, and as did everyone around him. There were some highlights in his banter with the crowd. He asked Chicago as a whole for forgiveness and stated that he was “a little busy and didn’t mean to affect our relationship.” He tried not to laugh when he said, “You mean so much to me.” His joking nature was endearing and certainly crowd pleasing. Fans that sat farther back were able to see his face and the nuances in his expressions by watching the larger than life images of Timberlake that were projected on the screens around him, although the screens themselves seemed to be an object that created distance between the performers and the crowd, something that worked to Timberlake’s disadvantage, despite their novelty.

Halftime was marked by an extra long set of mashups, during which Timberlake was nowhere to be found. Eventually, though, he returned to play a beat up looking upright piano that turned clockwise at the center of the stage, while his dancers, this time wearing slightly less formal clothing, resumed their antics around the stage, kissing and cuddling Timberlake and each other frequently.

Timberlake’s performance was solid and gave his fans what they were looking for. He worked his ass off on stage and should be pleased with his performance. His dancing and singing were definitely what everyone expected but weren’t enough to turn a non-fan into a die hard listener. I found myself longing at many times during the concert to hear him break into “Dick In A Box,” the song from his hit Saturday Night Live appearance. Now that would have made me a fan for life.

When it comes to talking about his exes, Justin Timberlake is a model of diplomacy.

Asked what he thinks about Britney Spears's recent ups and downs, the singer, 26, demurs, telling

after nearly four years together.

Instead, he slams the tabloids that, he says, "create soap operas out of people's lives." He won't take part in the speculation about the people in his life: "I would never say anything bad about anyone," he says. "I love a lot of those people."

When it comes to discussing his music, however, Timberlake is more forthcoming.
