With his new film 'Shrek the Third' out in Irish cinemas today, Justin Timberlake talks about working on the movie and the challenges of bringing an animated character to life on the big screen.
So were you a fan of the 'Shrek' movies?
Justin Timberlake: Yeah, huge. I mean, how can you not be? I mean it's a piece, a classic animated film, you know? I can't believe I'm in a 'Shrek' movie. I'm just kind of all giddy inside.
Music clearly has a vital part to play in every 'Shrek' movie; the music's intertwined beautifully. Had you thought at any point 'They want me to come in so that I'll do some music for the movie'?
JT: From the first meeting I had with Jeffrey [Katzenberg, executive producer] he said: "I don't want you to do any music, I just want you to be Artie."

Timberlake/Timbaland, QOTSA, Swizz, Daddy Yankee Rock 'Madden 08' Soundtrack |
Electronic Arts calls the annual announcement of the soundtrack for "Madden" "the most important showcase for music industry icons." The company's boast, delivered in a press release hitting on Thursday morning (June 28), presumably was meant to also include the phrase "in video games."
Regardless, the advance "Madden" tracklist EA provided to MTV News indicates that the Queens of the Stone Age, Daddy Yankee, and Timbaland will be enjoying that showcase. This summer's "Madden NFL 08" will include a 29-song soundtrack, including previously unreleased songs from Atreyu, Murs, the Hives and Yellowcard. The mix, as it's been for years, is a little bit hip-hop, a little bit rock.
"The annual goal of the 'Madden NFL' soundtrack is to give unprecedented exposure to new artists, bring established stars to a whole new level, and single-handedly define the sound of the coming year via the biggest sports franchise in video game history," said EA executive Steve Schnur.
Schnur has spoken to MTV News regularly about his efforts on EA's soundtracks (see "EA Offers Up Snoop, Peas Tracks; Exec Talks Future Of Video Game Music"). In an interview a year ago about the "Madden 07" soundtrack, he suggested that the days of a fixed soundtrack for that game might be over. Online consoles, he said, would allow EA to supply gamers with a constantly updating musical score for their "Madden" play. "By the time 'Madden 2008' comes out, we should be able to deliver some of the exciting ideas here," he said. "We're going to have a much deeper 24/7 relationship with 'Madden' gamers" (see "Soundtrack For 'Madden NFL 07': New Tracks From Audioslave, Sparta").
A year later, however, that vision of a malleable "Madden" soundtrack remains in the future tense. Maybe "Madden 09"?
This year's edition of the game will ship on all major gaming platforms on August 14.

50 Switches Next Single |

An official video for "Follow My Lead," featuring Robin Thicke, was also filmed several weeks ago, but has since been shelved. Reps for Interscope explained that 50's next official single will be a record formerly called "Ayo Technology" that features Justin Timberlake and Timbaland. The record is now called "She Want It" and a video will be in production shortly.

Justin needs an attitude adjustment |

Justin gave his throng of awaiting fans a wave leaving his Goteborg, Sweden hotel room on Monday, but over the weekend his behavior wasn't so friendly. A column in local paper Aftonbladet reported that when one young fan asked to take a picture with JT he said, "Do you want me to juggle for you as well?" While another local column has video of Justin taking pictures of the pestering paparazzi saying, "This is the picture of an a**hole." Obviously I can only imagine what it would be like to be constantly followed, but he's gotta know it comes with the territory at this point. Plus, being nasty to innocent fans is a pretty jerky way to go. I wonder what Jessica thinks about all this? Maybe his attitude can explain her long face.

What was it like working with Justin Timberlake?
It was very great. [Laughs] It was fantastic because he's such a cool guy. You know, he's Justin Timberlake! And he's still cool and chill. He's fun, but he's very serious about his work. And Timbaland � they just have a blast in the studio. I had a great time with them.
How did you hook up with Justin? Well, Timbaland was on tour with Justin and we had to follow Timbaland, really. So we went to Chicago first and one night after the show, Justin just came into the studio and he started messing around, making a beat. And it was fun. We played around with that one, too. And when we came to New York, Justin came back to the studio and he was like, ''I wanna write this song for Rihanna.'' So Timbaland had an idea and he knew he wanted to call the song ''Rehab'' and he had a beat. So then Justin Timberlake came in and he just put his thing on it. He wrote the song in his head. He didn't write anything on paper. He went into the booth and sang it and I was very, very impressed. We all loved it.
Can you tell me what that song's about? ''Rehab'' is a metaphorical song. Rehab really just means we have to get over the guy. So we talk about checking ourselves into rehab, meaning we have to get over him. And we compare the guy to a disease or an addiction. We're just saying, ''We don't wanna smoke any cigarettes no more,'' meaning we don't wanna deal with this BS anymore.

Many Prayers to her family and all the 11-14 year old girls in the middle eastern jersey that were friends with her . I'm so sorry for your loss.

Jessica Biel Joins Justin Timberlake on Tour – Again |
In May Jessica Biel visited Justin Timberlake while he was touring in the U.K. – and this week she met up with him in Amsterdam and Stockholm.
Biel, 25, arrived in Amsterdam Sunday evening, and she and Timberlake, 26, holed up in The Dylan, a romantic five-star hotel. (Earlier in the day, Timberlake hit an ice cream shop with his mother, who's also with him on tour.)
On Monday, they arrived in Stockholm. That evening, the pair – with a 13-member entourage – ate at Stockholm's Beirut Café, a Lebanese restaurant. "They seemed like an ordinary couple in love," owner Elias Karroum tells PEOPLE. "They were very sweet."
Adds Karroum: "They also tried to smoke a water pipe with apple-flavored tobacco. They said they'd tried it before, but we had to show them how to do it properly."
During dinner, some of Timberlake's Swedish friends tried to teach him some Swedish words for his Stockholm concert Tuesday, Karroum says.
Timberlake and Biel were first linked at a Golden Globe afterparty in January, and last month a source close to the singer told PEOPLE: "Justin's in love. He wants to be with her all the time. He's ready to be serious."

London, June 18: It seems that Justin Timberlake has a bit of a doggie problem - he can't seem to get along with girlfriend Jessica Biel's pet pooches.
Biel already has two dogs, and has just adopted her third - a pit bull puppy - from Los Angeles' Much Love Foundation.
However, a source reveals to the National Enquirer that Timberlake isn't too fond of the pooches.
"Justin puts up with the dogs - but he isn't a fan. The oldest one, Tina, growls at him and the second one, Tezzy, chews on his shoes," Femalefirst quoted the source, as saying.
"They only give pit bulls to special people, and Jessica has a lot of experience with the breed," the source added.
Timberlake recently had people wondering about the nature of his and Biel's relationship after calling the actress his "very dear friend".
