The former N Sync singer is warming up for a fresh onslaught on the charts after an extended break by playing London’s Hammersmith Apollo on 13 July.

Timberlake will give a worldwide debut to tracks from his upcoming album 'Future Sex/Love Sounds' – which is no doubt inspired by his leggy blonde girlfriend Cameron Diaz.

Justin started recording in LA with the BEP's Will.I.am and later with Rick Rubin, but he hit his stride in Miami during sessions at the Hit Factory with Timbaland and Timba's protégé Nate Danja? Hills in November. There was no pretension,? he says. Every body was throwing ideas into the pot. And I can't say enough about Timbaland. He knocked every beat out of the park.?

The trio struck gold on their first day in Miami, laying down What Goes Around Comes Around,? a soaring ballad featuring Justin's falsetto, with verses and choruses that pile on top of one another with dizzying effect. That song has an A hook and a B hook,? says Justin. Somebody once said to me that when John Lennon found a hook for a song, he'd make it the verse. That's what I was going for.? (The song, which is about a guy who gets dumped but has the last laugh, isn't autobiographical in anyway,? says Justin. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't have the experience to relay the message.?)

The album's first single, Sexyback? which will hit radio on July 7th, was Justin's attempt to harness the raw vocal emotion that he hears in singers like David Bowie, Michael Hutchence, and David Byrne. That he utters the phrase, I'm bringing sexy back/ You mothafuckers watch how I attack? jibes with Justin's belief that his audience has grown up with him. My music is for my age group? says the 25 year old. My Love? features a percussive loop played on wine glasses and a twenty-four bar rap from TI (other raps on the album come from Three 6 Mafia and Will.I.Am) before morphing into a salsa beat. Though the singer and his label, Jive Records have yet to agree on the final cuts, Justin says FutureSex/LoveSounds will be dominated by songs that came out of the Miami sessions, with one exception: the mellow Rubin-produced tribute to Donny Hathaway, Another Song?. Justin adds that his time in the studio with Rubin was so fruitful that it has inspired yet another album and he says that Another Song? will bridge the gap. We've done a bunch of songs together,? says Justin, who will show off about five of his new tunes during a US club tour in August. But I don't want to jinx that--right now I'm just trying to get people's asses off the wall.?

Last month, a gossip website reported that the couple of three years had split because of Justin’s need to “sow his oats.” But shortly after the story surfaced, Diaz and Timberlake claimed that they were still very much together. Now Life & Style Weekly is even reporting that a wedding may be on the horizon.

A source for L&S claims the recent reports of a break up were "a ruse so they could have a peaceful wedding…And [the wedding] will happen very soon." The article explains that Justin’s recent trip to Las Vegas with his pals was a bachelor party while Cameron’s recent jaunt to the Bahamas with friends including Charlie’s Angels co-star Drew Barrymore was her bachelorette party.

Still some insiders claim that Cameron and Justin still can’t come to a consensus on where their relationship is headed. A source told Australia’s NW, “Cameron loves Justin and he feels the same way about her. That’s not the problem – the problem is they just can’t seem to agree about if and when to get married.”

But if Timberlake’s Alpha Dog co-star, Olivia Wilde is to be believed, it seems like only a matter of time before these two tie the knot. Wilde told E!’s Ted Casablanca, "[Cameron and Justin] were definitely closer than any couple I've ever seen in my life when we were making the film. And he worshipped her. He told me he thought she was his guiding light and his savior."

For an exclusive first preview of Justin Timberlake's new single, "SexyBack," from his hotly anticipated forthcoming album, FutureSex/LoveSounds, tune in to MTV on Thursday (July 6) at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT.

MTV News caught up with Justin in Paris to discuss his new single and his album's bold new direction. Hear the new music — and what Justin has to say about it — only on MTV.

"I'm bringing sexy back," Justin Timberlake boasts on his new single, "SexyBack." And Justin's back too.

After nearly four years since the release of his debut solo album, Justified, the singer has new music to share — though you

"Anything that I do and anything Timbaland does is going to be funky. That's a rule of thumb." — Justin Timberlake might not recognize it as his.

"It's been awhile since the last record," Timberlake told MTV News in Paris on Thursday (July 6). "And I just wanted to try something new."

Timberlake worked with Rick Rubin and Will.I.Am for FutureSex/LoveSounds, but it wasn't until he hooked up with producer Timbaland that he figured out the direction he wanted the record to take (see "Justin Timberlake 'In A Good Place' With His Collabos").

"I sort of had an idea in mind where I wanted to go," he said, "and it turned out that I went completely left of that. But that's what music should do."

In "SexyBack," going "left" meant going more rock — not in how he constructed the song, but in how he sang it.

"I wanted to sing the song like a rock and roll singer, not an R&B singer," he said. "That's the approach."

Timberlake modeled himself after David Bowie and Prince, and describes "SexyBack" as Bowie and David Byrne covering James Brown's "Sex Machine." "That's the closest I could come," he said. "That's all of my influences for that song."

"SexyBack" doesn't qualify as rock or straight funk — and for now, Timberlake's happy with the description "club funk."

"I like that," he said. "Anything that I do and anything Timbaland does is going to be funky. That's a rule of thumb. And that's how the song got started, going more dance rock, club funk. There are people out there pushing the boundaries of music; Gnarls Barkley, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, they always push themselves. The most you can hope for is music that pushes your sound as much as they push theirs."

Timberlake shot a video for the song while in Barcelona, Spain, making "SexyBack" the first clip the singer's shot overseas.

"Obviously we went for the architecture, the exteriors, the interiors — the vibe in Spain is different than anywhere else in the world," Timberlake said. "It's so cool to shoot there, but the girls are also pretty hot, so that doesn't hurt either."

The singer fleshed out the concept for the clip with director Michael Hausmann, picked for his work on Madonna's "Take a Bow."

"It's one of my favorite videos Madonna's ever done," Timberlake said. "Even today, I still remember the visuals, the images, how he captured her. A lot of times, Madonna seems like she's the person in control, and in that video, she seemed vulnerable. It was a cool thing to see."

Because "SexyBack" isn't exactly about Timberlake's vulnerable side (in the song, he boasts, "If that's your girl, better watch your back"), the video will have a very different approach than "Take a Bow."

"It's like a small film," Timberlake said, without giving away the details. "I've yet to see it. I hope it's cool."

The waiting was long but I knew it would worth it. I was at the 2nd row, in
front of Justin’s mic, so the view couldn’t be any better. The show started
at 9 o’clock, it was so hot, but it was just the begining, trust me haha.
Anyway, so the musicians came on stage and started to play, Justin came
after two minutes, with a grey suit and white shirt, and the bandana he is
wearing on his latest official picture. He started by “Cry Me A River”, the
whole crowd sang along with him, that was really great! Then the songs came
along one by one, he played guitar, piano, danced, moved his body on all the
songs, and danced a little choregraphy on one of the song (“Rock Your Body”
I think).
He played an one hour and half show, ending by his latest single “Sexy
Back”. I wasn’t very convinced by it when I first listened to it on his
website, but in live it’s really an awesome song, the vibes are so great.
Justin gave so much energy to this show, that was awesome to see him
dancing, singing, enjoying the concert again, - I went to two concerts of
him in the past years, and after this other show, I can’t wait to see him
again-. And it looks like he appreciated a lot the atmosphere, he thank us
in french too, touching his heart, that was cute.
During this concert, he sang his biggest hits and a few of his new songs,
which are really good. I’ve already my favorite, I’m not sure of the title
but he kept repeating “She knows” on the chorus. Sexy Back is good, but the
rest of the album is unbelievable compared to it, I’m sure Justin will sell
more of this album than Justified did!
I don’t remember all the songs he played neither in order, but I’m doing my
best to give you a right setlist of the show:

Justin Timberlake loves Playboy parties... Hugh Hefner, the founder of the legendary men's magazine, has revealed the 'Rock Your Body' singer is a frequent guest at the wild parties he holds at his mansion.

He said: "Justin Timberlake always shows up.

"My parties are a mix of celebrities and beautiful people. Because of our invitation policy we have a higher number of beautiful people than any other party in the world."

Samantha: "Winning the competition was amazing, I couldn't believe it. I never win anything!

Radio 1 flew me down to London on Wednesday morning and Emily met me at the hotel. I was planning on getting my hair and make-up done but Radio 1 phoned and asked if I wanted to come on Colin and Edith's show - I had one hour to get ready.

I listen to Radio 1 all day so to be in the studio was surreal. I was really excited and meeting Colin and Edith them was brilliant, they were lovely."

Samantha: "After I'd been on the show I met my lovely chaperone who took us to the Maida Vale studios. We got a meal and drinks - a good girly night out. So excited, in a dream by this point. I thought someone was going to wake me any minute and say it was all a joke.

We hung out at the studios and listened to the band rehearse. I was getting so many texts and phone calls from friends - I'd never been so popular.

Justin was very, very gorgeous. He sounded amazing, and when he sand Cry Me A River I nearly cried. We were dancing in the studio for the new single SexyBack. To top it all off Justin did an encore for us!"

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE is the laziest celebrity - he can't even be bothered to download music to his iPod and employs his cousin to do the job for him. The CRY ME A RIVER accepts his lack of motivation and his fear of new technology are not good traits to have when you're a pop superstar. He reveals, "I am technologically challenged and too lazy to carry an iPod! I am too lazy and I don't have a laptop. My cousin has hers and I get her to download music onto an iPod for me. "I can't get it in my head that I should make a commitment to carry the iPod around with me; it just seems like a lot of work. "It's enough work having to shave, to take along all those other things. I am just too lazy."
