SHELBY COUNTY, TN (WMC-TV) – Superstar Justin Timberlake’s Mirimichi golf course was supposed to reopen after renovations this summer, but delays moved the reopening to Labor Day and came with the announcement of a new project!
Timberlake is so Memphis that the musician introduced one of the dignitaries at his golf course grand re-opening by asking, “Do you want me to give you like a whole Memphis Fight Intro?” and then humming the U of M Tigers Fight Song.
Bud Smart of the Golf Environment Organization came to award Mirimichi as the first certified green and sustainable course in the Americas!
“Mirimichi is what we as an organization want every golf course to aspire to,” said Smart.
Timberlake said of the sustainable certification, “Two of the things I love most in the world: golf and the environment. I think trying to find a way to marry the two: it was definitely a challenge.”
The Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau awarded the star a Mirimichi-themed Memphis made St. Blues guitar for making his world class course a destination for golfers!
“We drew better than 10 percent of our customer base from outside the Memphis area,” said Co-Owner Paul Harless.
Timberlake and his parents also clipped the ribbon, opening a 10 thousand square foot Mirimichi Performance and Learning Center. The Callaway cutting edge computerized analysis does everything but check your blood pressure while you swing!
“There’s nothing like this for 1,000 miles,” noted Golf Pro Alec Walker.
In addition to a world class practice range, Timberlake unveiled “Little Mirimichi,” a 9 hole executive course perfect for teaching golf to kids or playing hooky from work for quick practice.
All the extras are amazing, but the real spectacle here is the restoration and improvement of the championship 18 hole course: new greens, fairways and bunkers.
Timberlake said he was devastated as his course and so much of Millington and North Shelby County went underwater in the massive May flood.
“Everybody contributed to repairing and restoring what you see here,” he said.
Taking a break from making movies and music, Timberlake said he hopes his course will one day host a major championship. But for now, the golfing community is welcome to come back!
“I don’t know what else to say except that I hope the greens aren’t so fast that you hate us for it. But you know, that’s not life. That’s golf.”
As for snagging a major championship, Miriam hopes to contend for hosting a future US Amateur Pub-Links tournament to start and moving up from there.
Since Timberlake already hosts an PGA Tour stop, he has the contacts in the golf world to make the dream of hosting major golf events come true.
In the next five years, Mirimichi’s owners hope to add a spa, lodging facilities and a clubhouse.

I posted this a few posts down, but figured I’d post it in this one too since its the newest thread.
Yeah, I went. I got the idea we weren’t supposed to be there since they had all the tee times blocked off on their website from 7am through 3/4pm. There was staff and sheriffs out front of the gate and I got the feeling they were reluctant to let us in, asking if we were members, which we were last July through December, haven’t renewed yet, but they let us in cause my husband said we were going to be playing the Little Mirimichi course. When we pulled into the parking lot where the Callaway performance center and driving range was, Justin was out on the driving range practicing and had 2 people with him, one was Greg King, director of golf and the other was David Bomar, a golf assistant and he’s related to Justin. We went into the Callaway performance center to see if they had any tee times open for the 18 hole course but they said they were booked, so we went to the driving range so my husband could hit some golf balls while I watched Justin’s backside.
I was considering walking over to him, but I thought that would of been rude to interrupt him while he was practicing since I didn’t know if he was going to be playing a round of golf or not. He was laughing a lot and talking with David and Greg. Then he left and went into the Callaway center for a while before heading to the outside patio for the press conference. I didn’t even try to go over there because there was so much security.
Anyway, we ended up being able to get on the 18 hole course. We were at the 10th hole, my husband was waiting to tee off with another guy that was playing with him and I started to leave to head to our car to get my phone when I realized Justin, Greg, Rachel Nicoles (from ESPN), some other people and camera crew were going onto the 10th tee box, the tee box behind where my husband and the other guy were. I was watching from like forever away and the guy playing with my husband turned around and told Justin what a nice golf course, etc. My husband was getting ready to tee off and turned to tell Justin not to film his tee shot in joking way because it’d prob. not be that great and Justin laughed, said something like ‘let’s see what you got’, then my husband hit his ball and it actually stayed on the fairway, nice and straight, surprisingly, lol. And Justin clapped and said “what a great time to have a lucky shot”, my husband replied “even a blind squirrel finds a nut”, which Justin laughed again. They were doing an interview at the hole, so I drove a little closer, got 2 pictures that were still far away before they started to leave the tee box area. I drove over closer and stopped, got out and went to talk to Greg to see if I could get quick picture and he said it wasn’t up to him and said it was up to this lady Deb, so he whispered to Deb and she came over to me, first asked if I was an employee (employees can’t get pictures taken or they’ll be fired, apparently) and then told me no I couldn’t take a picture, which at first, I thought she just meant I couldn’t get a picture WITH him, so as he was starting to walk by, like 15 feet away, I raised my camera to try and take a picture, when this lady got really close to me, blocking my view of Justin and I tried moving my camera which she just moved to stand in front of again and said “No! You don’t do that!”, which I figured she meant I couldn’t be taking pictures of him AT ALL. So I apologized and got back in my cart which she followed me to it, then asked me “Where did you get this cart?!”, I wasn’t sure what to say, but I was so mad at that point, I was thinking in my head, “I fucking stole it, you dumbass!”, I mean REALLY! But I proceeded to explain, my husband was playing and that him and the guy he was playing with were stuck behind another group so they were doing a lot of waiting around, so I was running back to the car to get my cough drops and phone, like it was any of her freaking business. Then she started to tell me to make a u-turn and go the long way to parking lot instead of going the shorter way which was the way Justin was going apparently. So, then I just went to the car, got my stuff and went back to meet my husband.
I was pissed, the way she was acting toward me was really rude, questioning if I was an employee and where I got the golf cart from, etc. And I’m sure if she would have turned and asked Justin for a picture, he would have said yes or asked me to wait until he was done talking to Rachel Nicoles or simply told me “No, sorry.”
So, yeah, that was the extent of my Justin encounter, sorry it’s long and if it doesn’t make sense. I’m tired, cranky and getting sick. :-/

That sucks about that lady but at least you still somewhat had a good time and a Justin encounter.
Does the lady work for Justin or just the golf course? Maybe you should email or call and give a complaint about her.

Yeah, she was rude and pissed me off. She works for the golf course. She’s in the picture in this article above, Deb Peterson. She’s standing to the right of Justin in the striped shirt and her husband is the big guy with the black shirt and sunglasses standing to the right, behind her. She’s the director of sales/marketing so I don’t know what made her boss of him. They had security there and they all seemed cool when I got out of my cart to approach Greg. If anything, I thought it would of been his publicist, the black lady with short hair. I think her name is Sonya? I don’t remember, but she was at the 10th tee with Justin and everyone else.
I didn’t see Justin’s family or Trace, but of course I knew they were around there somewhere. Probably hanging out in the screened in patio area of the Callaway performance center before they went to the outside patio for the press conference. They just weren’t with Justin on the driving range or at the 10th tee. Oh yeah, and I didn’t see that girl from Oprah, that was supposed to be Justin’s “special VIP guest” when the course reopened, so I don’t know if her and her husband made it or not.
I’m sorry for what that lady did to you, she was very rude.
TennesseeLuverz, I don’t think I would have explained anything to that woman. If you were respectful enough not to take the picture, she shouldn’t have been following you to your cart and such. I would definitely find a way to complain about that.
Hey you know what @Tenn. ?, shh.. Try to keep this a secret but she has Facebook. I once added her on Facebook I seen she works there you know ?, I just was going to see If she would I guess let me add her or not. Well she did let me then two days later took me off and made her Facebook private. I never did bother her or wasen’t going to prob. anyways but.. I didn’t get why she added me If she was going to do that In the first place ?!, After I found out she did that I’m like thinking to myself ” Wow someone has problems”. lol I know I don’t know her but I can tell she isn’t a nice person I’m sorry though :/. I hope next time you can get lucky !
TennesseeLuverz, was Jessica there? (I know, I’m obsessed! lol) Somebody said they saw her in a pic when they were arriving at the airport.
Me: Yes, I was respectful. I was trying to take pictures of him when he was getting ready to walk by with that Rachel Nicholes girl to get into their golf carts, because I thought at first Deb meant that I couldn’t go over to him and get a picture with him. It wasn’t until she got closer to me and moved to block me taking a picture of him and said “No, don’t do that!” or whatever that I realized she meant I couldn’t be taking pictures of him just walking by. I apologized for trying to take a picture because honestly I didn’t know! I wasn’t mean or disrespectful at all.
My golf cart was parked probably like 10 feet away, so her following me and asking me “Where did you get that?” was ridiculous. I was just in shock when she asked, I guess, because she was being a bitch before about taking a picture. I mean, when you golf, you usually do have a golf cart… Lol. I felt like she was treating me like a 6 year old child.
I feel like if I complain, they won’t care because her husband is the general manager there and they’d just be like ‘oh, she’s just a pissed off fan’ or ‘they’re not members anymore and we won’t miss their money.’
carryberry: Seriously. She does have problems. I’ve never met her personally or face to face before yesterday. I’ve only heard of her and seen her around a few times at the course before. All I know was that she was a complete RUDE BITCH!
Caty: I DIDN’T see Jessica there or around. If she was there, she probably stayed in the Callaway Performance Center or on the screened in patio area of the Callaway Center. I didn’t even see Justin’s mom or step dad. And I only saw Justin on the driving range like 30 feet away and on the 10th tee when I was trying to get a picture WITH or OF him.
My best chance of getting a picture with him since it was only Justin, Greg and David, was on the driving range. Not even any security was around him then. But I felt like it would of been rude to bother him while he was talking and having a good time hitting balls and not “working”. Oh well, just bad timing on my part.
I did get two pictures from far away, before I tried to get closer pictures or one with him. I cropped them all to hell to zoom in as much as I could without the pictures getting blurry. One is of him facing toward me, but he’s looking down and that Rachel girl is blocking most of him. And the other is the side of his face when he was starting to leave the tee box area to head back to his cart.
Oh well, maybe next time!
They had a Callaway tent on the driving range, where you could like test out different clubs and the one guy that was there was saying Justin and his friends and family were partying at the golf course Sunday night on the outside patio and had one hell of a party. I just remembered that part earlier today. Lol.

^I think you should try to complain regardless. Even if she doesn’t hear about your complaint or if a lot of ppl there don’t hear about it at least some1 might. Even if your aren’t a member her actions towards you or other ppl reflect the course since she works at it and that isn’t right and Justin wouldn’t like that going on.

Why can’t couldn’t you take pictures of him? It was at a press day for goodness sakes. I can understand if it was a regular day or something. I’m sure that gets annoying for him on a daily basis. 1 good picture wouldn’t have hurt anything. That thing about Rachel not letting you take any pictures was uncalled for. Fans are what make these celebrities not the other way around.
ITA Steph, I hope Justin isn´t only playing the “good guy” and then he turns around when the camera isn´t filming and says: “F… them all, because I´m something better than all of you guys”…. you´ll never know…

I think Justin isn’t playing a role. All those who know him describe him as a nice guy, funny and humble, and no one forces them to speak well of him that way. And, you can see he isn’t a ugly person (like Jessica, LOL). Sometimes he seems a little different, especially when Jessica is around him. Obviously, anything can be, but I don’t think.
See I don’t like when people are rude like that who ” knows someone famous” or “works for them” and some people thinks they can get a away with It. Esp. when they expect something out of It and are very rude to people I agree @Steph fans are what makes them

Steph: I agree, it was press/media day, so a picture should have been okay/allowed. And it’s not even like the golf course was packed or filled with fans or anything! It WASN’T Rachel Nichols who wouldn’t let me take the pictures, it was that Deb Peterson lady that wouldn’t let me take pics. Rachel was just walking beside him talking/interviewing him still as they were walking back to the golf cart. I’m 98% sure Justin didn’t even see me standing there since Deb was blocking me the whole time.
The other thing was that, literally like 5 minutes at the most before all of this, Justin was joking with MY husband! I don’t know if the film crew was filming that part, but Justin was being nice and joking with him then, so I couldn’t see why if Deb had ASKED Justin if I could get a picture of him, why Justin would say no. When he seemed fine talking/joking with my husband.
^ Yeah, that was crazy. That’s cool your husband got to talk to him. Obviously, he was nice & all. Which, is good. Who in the world is Deb Peterson? Are you feeling any better? You said earlier that you were getting sick. Hope you get well soon.
