Matt Morris and Justin Timberlake to sing “Hallelujah” for Haiti
Denver singer-songwriter Matt Morris has made the rounds as of late, playing early news programs (such as CBS’s “The Early Show,” above), mid-day talk programs (including a couple performances on “The Ellen Show”) and late shows (including David Letterman’s “The Late Show”). But his performance at Friday night’s George Clooney-organized “Hope For Haiti Now” telethon could be the biggest deal of them all.
During Friday’s telethon — airing on the four major networks and dozens of cable channels at 8 p.m. — Morris will cover Leonard Cohen’s most treasured song, “Hallelujah,” with his pal Justin Timberlake, Morris announced on his blog tonight. Timberlake is Morris’ close friend, but the multi-platinum pop star also owns the label, Tennman Records, that released Morris’ debut, “When Everything Breaks Open,” a couple weeks ago.
“I will be singing ‘Hallelujah’ with my good friend, Justin Timberlake, on the ‘Hope for Haiti Now’ global telethon to benefit the Haitian people,” Morris wrote earlier today. “The list of artists who will be performing coast to coast is vast and impressive, including Wyclef Jean, Jay-Z, Shakira, Alicia Keys, Dave Matthews, John Legend and Sheryl Crow.”
Morris and Timberlake’s take on “Hallelujah” — along with the rest of the songs from Friday’s fundraiser — will be available for purchase on iTunes on Saturday. Other performers include Beyonce, Madonna and Bruce Springsteen.
“When Everything Breaks Open” currently sits at No. 1 on the iTunes singer-songwriter chart and No. 5 on the iTunes album chart.

I hate Matt’s music. So boring and elevator like. Please use it for call waiting music and nothing else.
i hate to be negative, but I dont like his music either. It’s not my style, not knockin the guy cuz obviously other people like it.
but i was really hoping Justin would be singing by himself!
but i was really hoping Justin would be singing by himself!
me too
I like Hallelujah and Matt Morris’ songs too, I will be looking forward to it. The real work starts now to keep the happy home. Matt Morris is going to be known to wider music lover with Justin’s help. I hope Justin will have more focus and direction in his own work now to stop “people” crying.
I love “Hallelujah”! ^^ This gonne by amazing :]
Not trying to be negative, and God knows that tonights telethon is for a good cause, but why can’t JT sings this by himself? That was something I was looking forward to. I guess with everyone else joining together with collaborations like Jayz and Bono,Justin wanted to sing with Matt. Oh well.
I think Matt and Justin will sound good together on that song.
christine: Jessica and Vogue are sending out emails lol Read below
melsanie: Jessica Biel is writing e-mails for @VogueUSA now. Desperate times
AJMukamal: just got an e-mail from Jessica Biel about how special it is and what it means for her to be on the cover of Vogue- seriously?
Yep, they have to send out emails lol Here’s a couple more
# @jennybai haha no, promo for their Feb. issue, but the email came from Jessica Biel… about 1 hour ago from TweetDeck in reply to jennybai
# LOL I did. Startling. @YuliZ did anyone else just received a personalized email from Jessica Biel via Vogue? 2 minutes ago from web
I know thier rendition of Hallelujah is going to be great !
It looks like Vogue is trying to get people to buy thier magazine by e-mailing people who are fans of Biel
and where do you think she is at ?
the group is supposedly back in the States
there are no photo op of her walking her dog or with Justin and there are no reports that she will be answering the phones on the telethon tonight
I could be wrong but I think she might be in Col.
it seems ever celebrity you can think of will particiapate some how there are no mention of Biel
Exactly Christine!! Chick just thought she was on the come up with landing the Vogue cover, only thing is the reason people on different blog sites thought of her is because she is Justin’s (allegedly) main chick..lol!
GOD I so wish the Vogue sales for this month issue would be released but her team would never let that happen
Biel isnt capable of selling movies why would people buy magazines with her talking about her career lol
LOL
Hello all! :waves:
Looking forward to the telethon, it’s good to see so many celebrities get behind this movement. I do wish we’d see a solo JT but the cause is a bigger issue and that doesn’t really matter.
About the Vogue/JB emails, wow that’s desperate! Has that ever happened before with other stars? I don’t hate Jessica, but it’s so obvious she needs Justin more than he needs her. It’s a very uneven relationship and I don’t think it’ll last much longer. I didn’t like the pictures in Vogue, the interview was boring and I could not believe she brought up Rihanna! Talk about insecure. I think it’s sad she’s writing emails to people about her Vogue cover. After all that’s happened in Haiti, get some perspective woman!
Jessica wrote emails about her Vogue cover?
Word yall…its been a while

Thanks, Christine.

^that’s your opinion.
Yea well NOMZ someone should tell him that, they’ve never had any chemistry and he can barely stay with her longer than a few days before heading off to party.
