Timberlake’s Mirimichi to close for improvements
Justin Timberlake’s Millington golf course will close for renovations January 15, and will reopen July 17.
Timberlake said the original plan was to make improvements at Mirimichi over the next three years, but he decided to move forward immediately.
“I felt the Memphis community deserves the best now and shouldn’t have to wait through three years of gradual improvements,” Timberlake said in a statement. “So I challenged the team to make all of the changes by our first anniversary (July 25, 2010).”
The enhancements will include improvements to the drainage, bunkers and greens, and additions to wetlands, wildflowers and native grasses.
Timberlake’s stated goal is for the course to become a world-class golf destination and possibly host a major championship by 2020. Timberlake currently hosts the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas.
Timberlake and his family purchased the former Big Creek Golf Course in 2007 and invested $16 million in the renovations.

I just read the article this morning in my email. I’m glad my husband and I didn’t renew our membership there since they are closing the course till July. I wish they would hurry up and start building the clubhouse for his record label.
