Justin Timberlake’s upcoming film “The Social Network” has got a release date. According to ComingSoon.net, Columbia Pictures has chosen October 15, 2010 as the day when this drama hits theaters. On the same day, CBS Films’ “Faster” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Billy Bob Thornton is also expected to open wide in the U.S.
“The Social Network” is based on Ben Mezrich’s novel “The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal”, which tells the story behind the controversial birth of the Facebook website. The movie itself will focus on the drama behind the Harvard dorm room creation of the popular social networking site by Mark Zuckerberg and his roommates.
Taking the role of founder Mark Zuckerberg is “Zombieland” star Jesse Eisenberg. Justin Timberlake will play Sean Parker, the Napster co-founder who became Facebook’s founding president, and Andrew Garfield will star as co-founder Eduardo Saverin, who fell out with Zuckerberg over money. Timberlake has grown out his curly hair to portray Parker.
Coming from David Fincher, the man behind “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button“, the movie is written by “Charlie Wilson’s War” scribe Aaron Sorkin. The film is currently shooting in Los Angeles after it kicked off production in October in Boston.

What happened to the big long discussion?
I’m not even going to keep commenting here because as soon as it gets interesting it gets deleted. What’s the point?
People want to go back and look for something someone said and it’s gone.

I found it Christine. I’m getting lost in this new layout.
lol
Anyway, isn’t that release date kind of far away?
lol thats ok hon
i was lost too at first! it takes some adjusting
well it’s not that far away, because filming wraps around late jan/early feb..then they have to edit it and shipped it off, establishing and finding promotional venues, kicking off promotion for the film, etc. so it’s alot that goes into it lol. and i can see why the timing seems long
also it sounds like they want to generate good buzz for the film as well, since alot of “good” films usually come out in the fall/winter for award season/festivals
I wanted to watch this film soon
but we must wait a little…Ok…
I’m getting lost in this new layout.
Me too…I thought I was the only lost
