people : Who Should Play Frank Sinatra?
The race is on in Hollywood to play Ol’ Blue Eyes.
Oscar winner Martin Scorsese will be directing and producing a biopic about legendary singer Frank Sinatra, who died in 1998 at age 82. The hot-tempered Sinatra led a famously colorful life: He wed four times (including to movie stars Ava Gardner and Mia Farrow), had early ties to organized crime, and starred in 50-plus movies, including the original Rat Pack extravaganza, Ocean’s Eleven, as well as From Here to Eternity, for which he won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
The role of Sinatra has yet to be cast, but the early favorite is Leonardo DiCaprio, who has made three films with Scorsese, including Shutter Island, which opens this fall. Another possible contender: Johnny Depp. Respected film industry blogger Nikki Finke reports he’s the choice of the sponsoring studio, Universal. Neither actor is known for his warbling abilities, but that doesn’t matter because the film, which has the cooperation of the Sinatra estate, will use the crooner’s original recordings.
Other possible contenders? Justin Timberlake, who actually can sing and has the right hungry look. Tween heartthrob Joe Jonas has the pipes and the right look. Or maybe even Twilight’s Robert Pattinson, if he loses the fangs and nails a New Jersey accent. Pick your favorite to portray the crooner below:

see Leo and Johnny are hot , but I think Justin could do this role very well. ( mom agrees too lol )….. the other two dont look the part and couldn’t talk the talk.

in my opinion, for me its btw Leo and Justin. I love Leo great actor but lacks on the singing skills. Justin of course could sing and looks the part! as for the acting Justin’s pretty good. he was really good in alpha dog and im sure if he got this role he would work really hard and nail it as usual so i think JT would be pretty damn good ! unfortunately for his fans if he did this we would be waiting even longer for a new record !
no no no ..i think Frank Sinatra movie should be great and justin is not great actor ..he is just good in snl …and shrek …that’s it ….but i don’t know maybe that movie well be diffrent coz it’s maybe musical movie …justin could sing in the movie ….and justin looks like frank litil bit ..and with make up and every thing he would be just like him lol …but i imagen Robert Pattinson doing that movie …
I would say no to the jonas guy. No to Leo. Johnny depp doesn’t quite seem right but then again you never know. So that leaves rob and justin. Justin isn’t that good of an actor (IMO) when it comes to non comedic roles but he knows music and performing so this might actually fit him.
Then again, even if twilight wasn’t the best movie rob is still pretty good at playing a serious character.
There’s a song by frank that i really like it’s called ‘come fly with me’ so i’d say whoever can perform the hell out of that song should get it. And I mean really perform it right.
That’s why i eliminated jonas because all i imagine when i think of him is stuff like highschool musical and disney, which doesn’t seem right for the part.

I think it shouldl def be between Johnny Depp and JT. I think JT would play the part well and I think he has the look…there’s potental there. Also Johnny Depp is an incredible actor and can play any character and you would seriously never know it is him; he’s got an amazing gift and they couldn’t go wrong with him. Both excellent choices
I would go for Leo or JT but i think it would be JT since he could sing.
I don’t think that Justin’s personality is similar to Frank Sinatra’s personality…
i personally think that Leo might get it cause he has done films w/ him b4.
justin would only get it cause its easier for a singer to play a singer.
johnny would get it cause of his obvious talent and he can sing…(not many people know that)
robert and joe have absolutly no shot in the world of doing it b.c Scorsese isnt going to pick a teen hearthrob as a main role, it would throw off the whole seriousness of the movie.

Oh Please!! – what fool would cast Justin Timberlake’s non- acting ass in a movie of such magnitude??? Jamie Foxx pulled off “” Ray – Jennifer Lopez pulled off ” Selena” because they have mad crazy talent- BUT Justin Timberlake – not so much – he needs to leave dramatic acting the hell alone- stick to SNL bubby.

Leo, for me would be the best choice….althought with some fierce acting training JT might pull it off…….I mean he is the most versatile of the bunch……first choice Leo though…
It’s between Leo and Robert for me (but I’m leaning more toward Robert). Leo has the look and the talent to pull off the role. Robert has the same but add the fact that he can sing! I think Rob should get the role. I know most people like to judge Rob’s work by what he has done on Twilight, but he has portrayed a variety of fundamentally different characters in his other movies (i.e. “Little Ashes” and “Remember Me”) so his versatile talent is definietly worthy of a role such as Sinatra. =)
