Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel continued their romantic Roman holiday Friday with some vintage jewelry shopping.
Their purchases: A diamond bracelet and ring, both from the 1970s, a source confirms to PEOPLE.
The couple spent about an hour at the unmarked shop, located on a cobblestone street near the Via Condotti, Rome’s poshest shopping area.
The tiny shop – about the size of two phone booths – specializes in 1950s to 1970s era jewelry. (It has very little jewelry on display, but there’s a huge built-in safe.)
Timberlake and Biel – who came to the shop on a recommendation – asked the shop assistant to empty the safe, and Biel proceeded to try on nearly every piece.
One particularly interesting piece? A 17th century necklace. When Biel found out how old it was, Timberlake started serenading her with a song from the soundtrack to Easy Virtue, her upcoming period film.
“I could tell they had very refined taste because they asked about the history of all the jewelry,” shop owner Nicola Boncompagni tells PEOPLE. She added that the couple seemed “shy but in love.”
Biel chose not to wear any of the purchases immediately – preferring to have the jewelry delivered to their hotel.

Shelfy hates her family
As you know, Shelfy’s been relentless on the wedding campaign, leaking to People.com about a visit to a jewellery store with the Pip during their Roman vacation and planting biweekly items in the tabloids about his imminent proposal.
Problem is…
Her family doesn’t famewhore. Or at least she hasn’t taught them yet.
Thanks to Jodi V in Denver for the tip – apparently one of Jessica Biel’s relatives called up a radio station yesterday morning to reveal that Shelf and Pip and not engaged and that her father has been assuring family members that nothing in the tabloids is true…
Oh dad! Don’t you know?
Poor dad needs media training, wouldn’t you say? All that hard work by her publicist, convincing the gullible superfans, floating that ridiculous story about Justin serenading Jessica with an obscure song inside an even more obscure Italian bauble shoppe… all that shot to hell by a father completely naïve to his daughter’s obsessive publicity campaign.
Bet your boob job daddy got a phone call yesterday.
And this is Shelfy in Rome rehearsing for Beverly Mitchell’s wedding – the original reason why she and Pippy are in Italy although if you believe her own rumour mongering, you would have thought their trip was actually pre-honeymoon.

One day no one gives a shit about Beverley Mitchell, next day her wedding details are front and centre on People.com and somehow those pesky intrusive paps were able to get SO close their photos of the bride and groom look like they should end up on the official thank you cards!

Helping to save a friend’s career by using the same tactics she’s used to launch her own – it’s f&cking brilliant. Too bad she couldn’t have spent the same amount of energy looking after her dogs. If that were the case, one of them wouldn’t have been eaten by the other.
You will note – a busy bustling street, with randoms and tourists all around, and JT’s bodyguards nowhere in sight. But when he exits his SUV headed inside MTV headquarters for a meeting, they surround him like he’s the Pope.
Why?
Because there was a deal. They made a deal. And every day, the paps in Italy have been capitalising on this deal. Trust.
So can you blame the Shelfy for looking so smug?
Jessica’s hair look nice but it looks like a wig on a man. lol
I don’t think Justin looks that happy. In some of the pics of him smiling, it doesn’t look like Jessica is next to him either. I’m surprised Jessica isn’t smiling more since she is at a wedding but she does look smug like Lainey says. And her dress isn’t that nice.
It’s nice to see Justin and Joey together though. The paps even “followed” Justin, Jessica, Beverly and her husband to the church the church for rehearsal.
Lainey even called out Jessica for trying to be like Cameron since she is trying to go green and ecofriendly now.
I mean she called Jessica out about the piggy back saying cameron did it 1st.
so because Justin gave Jessica a piggyback ride she is trying to be like Cameron now
