Newlyweds ELLEN DeGENERES and PORTIA DE ROSSI turned down offers from GEORGE MICHAEL and JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE to sing at their summer (08) wedding in favour of a little known singer.
The pop superstars both offered to perform, with Timberlake going so far as planning to pen a new song especially for the two brides.
But, when the couple chose to scale their wedding plans back to a more intimate family affair, the idea of inviting big name stars to perform in their garden seemed a little odd.
DeGeneres says, “We called and disinvited everyone. They totally understood.”
Instead, she asked Joshua Radin to sing at the wedding: “He was fantastic and was so thrilled and honoured.”
