Justin Timberlake has a gripe with Ashton Kutcher and it has nothing to do with his brilliant “Punk”ing of the popstar.
“I keep hearing Ashton Kutcher say how he was responsible for trucker caps. It’s funny, Trace [Ayala, his BFF] and I were wearing them when we were 17,” JT says in the new issue of Fashion Rocks magazine.
So let’s get this straight. You’re annoyed that someone else is taking credit for an ugly hat trend that you claim to have started? Who cares! Why not focus on the fab fashion trends you’ve started.
There was the brilliant double denim. Or what about the white-boy cornrows? And who could forget all of *Nsync’s early ensembles?
Come on JT, you’ve got so much to be proud of. Let this one go.

Since justin is friends with ashton he was no doubt just taking a funny shot at him but as usual everyone will print him as being serious. These magazines and blogs need to get a sense of humor.
I kind of took it as Justin saying in a way how can Ashton be responsible for the trend if people were already wearing trucker hats. I don’t know if I explained that right but oh well…it could also be Justin trying to be funny but he’s always taken so seriously.
justin has already said that people take everything he say so seriously on the rove show,and of course the gossip magazine will focus on that statement instead of fashion rock which is to help cancer research,but negative comment make headline.
sounds like some creative editing by the writer. The actual quite seems out of context with what the journalist is claiming (Justin insisting he’s a trendsetter?). And now with a acknowledgment from the NY Post, it’s blown out of proportion. Journalists are ridiculous sometimes..
Yeah he probably said it jokingly, but that doesn’t come across in print.
I think ppl are making wayy too big of a deal about the hat comment, he’s just joking around. But I did notice that justin definitely started the trend lately with the big scarfs coming in. I saw him doing it a while ago and i was like what is that! and now they sell them at abercrombie! a while ago when he used to wear those button up sweaters ppl started doing it on E! with ties and jeans. He’s definitely a trend setter.
I don’t know why Justin always puts his foot in his mouth every time he says something. I know he was joking but it comes across as arrogant, which I feel is not really him. He should just stick to letting his publicist talk because I am sure he is going to get flack for this statement. And that really makes me sad.
Lza i definitely agree w/ u because he also started the trend wearing the bandana w/ the suits in the sexyback video & the next time you saw it Jamie Foxx was wearing them w/ leather jackets, the backup dancer in Beyonce’s video upgrade u were wearing it w/ suits.You got Usher on the cover of EW wearing a suit that looked like something that Jt’s worn in the last couple of years.Back when he first came out as a solo artist he was wearing the wrist-bands to match the shirt he had on ,he started the trend w/ the fedoras-Icould go on & on………………………………………..

I can’t believe people take a comment about a hat, that he no doubt was laughting about, and different magazine sites run with it as being oh so serious. Even some fans need to lighten up. It’s a hat, not life and death. Luckily justin has big shoulders. Big fine shoulders. He’ll just let it roll off them.
